Anytime you work in a hospital you will find some type of medical negligence. As an individual who spent thirteen years providing care for others, I have some some intentional and unintentional negligence. Some people care deeply about providing the utmost and accurate care for others, and then some do just enough to get by and not get caught. I have even seen cases where hospitals have tried to hide gross negligence on their part. This is disturbing for the hospital and the patient. Most often I have found that hospitals are very capable of covering any mistakes that are made. For those mistakes that are not able to be covered up, legal action usually takes place in a rather quiet method. This helps to create less of a social outcry. I have seen everything from incorrect leg amputation, incomplete craniotomies, and wrong procedure completed on patients. The results often have been detrimental to patients. But not only to just the patient, but staff also. Simple time, care, and knowledge of patients and their procedures would decrease negligence. People should be informed of what procedures they are having and how it will be conducted. Staff should educated their patients; as well as, themselves on what procedure is to take place. Provide quality care and safety to all patients. When something goes wrong, it should be reported. Patient care and responsibility should come first. No matter what outcome may result.

The housing market is financially damaging a lot of people these days. A lot of houses are for sale because people cannot pay for their mortgage and going back into apartments. It’s not pretty out there for most people but sure enough it’s an awesome time for others. Who are these people taking advantage of this crisis? Investors mostly and people who want a fast property sale
. I’m not however, talking about million dollar investor, it could be the average Joe who’s in the market for a house or building. If you were planning on buying a house, now is a good time to start looking and see how the prices are going down. In the next year or 2, there’s going to be amazing deal on the market because people want to sell so bad, that they are willing to let the price go lower than they normally would because they need it. According to Forbes, housing prices will go down 23% in Los Angeles and 20% in Florida! You need a deal, and they need to sell. Everybody wins to me. Of course getting a loan is harder these days, but then again if you can, mortgage financing has never been lower than that. It’s a great time to buy for sure, some people will come out of this situation a winner, and other will have to go back to basics. This kind of financial` situation happens only once every 20 years or so, it’s time to get wet and ride this wave!

We all know about poker today. From the Las Vegas circuit to the nationally televised World Series of Poker it has become one of Americas most popular pastimes. But, is it truly American? Like so many other American traditions it has been created from influences from all over the world and become something truly unique. So join me on a brief history of the sport we so love today. The game of poker is thought to have evolved from several different games, the earliest dating back to China before 969 A.D. when Emperor Mutsung was reported to play the Domino Card game with his wife to celebrate the New Year. The Egyptians were also known to play a cheating game. However, the game we know today most likely goes back to the Spanish 16th century game Primero which used bluffing on poor cards to fool your opponents. This game was brought to Canada and the United States via French Immigrants in Canada and Louisiana. From Louisiana it was brought up the Mississippi and spread around the country. By the time of the Wild West it was so popular that there was a poker table in almost every town. From a blend of nationalities and backgrounds, like the United States itself, comes a game that is truly American.
